Watchtower Puyenbroeck

Located in the landscape park of Provincial Domain Puyenbroeck, the 15-metre-high observation tower offers panoramic views over the park and its surroundings. Completed in 2020, the structure was designed by Ghent-based architecture firm Bureau Partners.

The tower is built from a reclaimed fire escape that once belonged to the Henleykaai school campus in Ghent. Rather than letting the redundant structure go to waste, it was given a new purpose as a viewing platform, elevated on a concrete base and extending over the water.

The tower gives a former school fire escape a second life, combining circular design with a new way to experience the landscape.
