Vlooybergtoren
Perched on one of the highest points of the Hageland region, the Vlooybergtoren is a sculptural viewing tower designed to frame expansive views across the surrounding landscape. Constructed from weathering corten steel, the structure references the area's iron sandstone heritage while establishing a contemporary landmark within the rolling countryside.
The intervention takes the form of a staircase that appears to float above the ground. Rising 11 metres high and extending more than 20 metres in length, the tower culminates in a cantilevered lookout platform that projects into the landscape.
From the summit, visitors are rewarded with panoramic views stretching across Flemish Brabant and beyond. The tower’s striking silhouette and seemingly impossible form have made it one of the region’s most recognisable landmarks, gaining further visibility through its appearance in the television series Callboys.
