Roger Raveel Museum

Despite his international recognition, the painter Roger Raveel never left his native village of Machelen-aan-de-Leie. In honour of his artistic career, he was given his own museum, simply called the Roger Raveel Museum. Renowned architect Stéphane Beel designed a sleek, white, contemporary building that blends in with the picturesque village centre of Machelen.

The building itself is worth the trip to Machelen. It's striking yet unobtrusive, open yet dense. Inside you'll find a labyrinth of rooms leading you through the Raveel collection. The museum has been described as one of Beels' most fascinating and poetic works.

The collection of the Roger Raveel Museum includes more than 300 paintings, 2,500 drawings and a complete collection of prints.
