Kunstkerk Bossuit

In 2013, Bossuit's old 'Sint-Amelberga Church' was transformed into a work of art called 'Repeat' by British-American artist Ellen Harvey. The church was destroyed at the end of the First World War. Afterwards it was restored and in 2007 it was closed for security reasons. As part of the town center renewal, Ellen Harvey was awarded the assignment to redevelop the building. It is now an art church, which is used by the residents of Bossuit as a village square for all kinds of social and cultural activities. The Venetian terrazzo floor shows the shadow of the church the way it looked after the destruction at the end of the First World War.
The combination of the open roof with the visual effect of the floor drawing creates a unique experience.

The project is open to the public for free. Find out more at avelgem.be
