Kunsthal

In Ghent’s Patershol district you'll find Kunsthal Gent, a contemporary-art hub housed in a 14th-century Carmelite monastery.

Since its reopening in 2019, Kunsthal Gent functions as a public exhibition venue on weekends and it becomes a workspace for artists, curators and cultural organisations during weekdays.

Kunsthal Gent hosts rotating exhibitions alongside resident-artist initiatives, screenings, workshops and discursive events. The aim: not a traditional “white cube,” but a living, breathing meeting place for emerging and established artists, local and international.

Kunsthal Gent succeeds in turning heritage into a catalyst, transforming a centuries-old site into a dynamic cultural engine.
