L'Anneau de la Mémoire
The Anneau de la Mémoire or Ring of Remembrance is a monumental tribute to all combatants who fell in Nord Pas-de-Calais, France between 1914 and 1918. It's an architectural and aesthetic masterpiece and pays tribute in a beautiful, unifying way to the soldiers, husbands, fathers and sons from all over the world who fell in the Great War, without distinction of nationality, rank or religion.
No fewer than 579,606 names engraved in steel are forever gathered in this elliptical monument with a circumference of 345 metres. Amid all those names you will inevitably find an acquaintance or family member.
